Joint trade union coordination Center (JTUCC) conducted a Nepal forum in Geneva on June 8th 2015 in UN Building. Taking opport
unity of the 104th International Labor Conference (ILC), the forum was conducted to pass the massage of unity among diversity of Nepali trade union movement.
At the time of the preparation, the devastated earthquake had been happened in Nepal. This opportunity was also taken to share the destruction and lost by the incident and how strong moral and technical support was help to stand Nepali people by the international solidarity, sympathy and support just after it during the time of rescue and relief. The forum was used to thanks all those internal community as well, focusing on labor movement.
The forum was chaired and moderated by JTUCC as well GEFONT chair Bishnu Rimal and addressed by Shalikram Jamkattel, Khilanath Dahal, lxman Basnet and Binda Pandey
Then deputy general secretary of ITUC Jaap as ILO-ACTRAV director Maria Helena delivered their solidarity massage addicting the devastation might be converted into opportunity to create more job with decent working condition. Jaap proposed to have a solidarity international meeting in Nepal in first week of September to seek the support to Nepal.
Expressing solidarity from the floor Krishty from UNI said “global union and people can extend solidarity, but local people should make it reality”.
Many more people from around the globe extended their solidarity. It was really great and emotional event to listen the concern of the world to build out nation.
