Asian Women Parliamentarian Conference was held in Singapore on Oct 16-17, 2014, organised joint by German foundation KAS and UN-Women. the program was participated by about 30 parliamentarian from 19 countries including some of the staffs of parliamentary offices.
Main areas of the discussion was women in politics, achievement, gaps, strategy etc. and sharing the experiences from different countries including European union. There was a discussion “Building Up Women Leadership Presence in National Level, Migration and Increasing Vulnerabilities for Women in Asia – Formulating Adequate Policy Responses and Corruption and Bad Governance – Can Women Parliamentarians Make a Difference in Combating one of the Most Serious Obstacles to Achieving Efficient Governance and Development in Asia?” As part of the formal session.
I was participation the program representing APWLD as resource-preson and made presentation on the given topics as- “Opportunities, Gaps and Overview of Female Political Leadership in Asia – Using Legislative Instruments to Effect Change in Policies/Laws for Women in Asia”
